5 Simple Things You Should Do Everyday (Even When Your Day Is Stressful)
In my mind, I like to think of myself as this super mom who has herself and family together. In reality, however, this is not always the case. I often feel overwhelmed with all the multitasking I have to do. 24 hours just doesn’t feel like enough time in the day to get everything done! I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling like this. Recently, I started trying out different activities to do during the day to maintain some level of consistency in my life. Surprisingly, these very simple and quick activities have increased my energy to get work done. Try these five simple activities everyday, even when your day is stressful.
Make Your Bed
I started making my bed every morning a few weeks ago and it has helped me start my day off right. I do it before I leave the room in the morning. I think it helps my brain to know it’s now time to start the day in an organized fashion. I know it sounds crazy but try it!
Eat a Healthy Snack or Drink
If you are like me and have a hard time eating healthy regularly, pick one healthy snack and drink you actually enjoy and take it the same time every day. I really enjoy my homemade smoothies. I’ve been making them during my kids afternoon snack time so we can all enjoy them together. This knocks two birds with one stone! Healthy meals and family bonding!
Plan Out Your Day
This is key to having making the best use of your time. Every morning, after making my bed and drinking my first cup of coffee, I sit down and plan out everything I want to do for the day. This helps me stay on task throughout the day. The best part of this is that if I don’t end up completing my tasks for the day, I don’t feel so guilty because I know I tried.
Dedicate Some Quiet Time to Pray
I’ll be honest. I’ve always known it’s important to spend some time towards prayer. But when my day got busy, this always seemed to be the thing that gets rushed. Now, I’ve been working consciously to take my time to spend some of my morning time to consciously pray and read the bible. I especially got inspired by Adrienne Bailon’s “first 15” where she spends the first 15 minutes of her day in prayer and reading her bible. I use the first moments of my day, before getting out of bed to pray. I then use my first moments after cleaning my bed to sit in my room and read Daily Walk Bible.
Embrace Your Loved Ones
It’s important to never be too busy to hug you loved ones. The way people have been passing away so unexpectedly lately, just love on your family and friends as much as you possibly can.
