Valentines Day Date Ideas To Do At Home
This time last year, we had no idea how the world would change how we do things. Although most of the world felt optimistic that we would get back to the old way of doing things, it’s looking like face masks and social distancing is the new normal. This applies to how we celebrate Valentines Day this year. Don’t let this sad reality discourage you from celebrating love this year. Here are some ways to celebrate Valentines Day this year.
At Home Movie Night
For most people, it’s common to either have a movie room within your home or a television and sound system that gives you a similar theatre experience in your living room. With how our world has changed, there is now more accessibility to all kinds of movies, including ones just coming out in theaters right in your home. Use this opportunity to enjoy some popcorn, your favorite drinks and watch your favorite movies or enjoy a new movie (via HBOMax or Amazon).
how to make this happen
Find a quiet spot in your home where the two of you can setup to watch a movie together. If you don’t have a movie room, this could be in your bedroom or the living room. Let the night begin after the little ones have gone to bed so you’re not disturbed. If I were you, I’d send them to bed an hour early. If they can’t tell time, they’d never know!
Plan to have your favorite snacks and bottle of wine ready for the evening. Hubby and I kettle corn popcorn and a nice glass of wine.
Set the mood. Get a warm throw blanket to get cozy together and dim the lights.
At Home Couples Wine Down
Use Valentines day to transform your Master Bathroom to a Wine Down Oasis. Fill it with scented candles, set up a warm relaxing bubble bath and enjoy the night together. Add some nice touches like matching bath robes and slippers. Use this opportunity to enjoy each other in uninterrupted silence or conversation.
how to make this happen
Fill your bedroom and/ or bathroom with scented candles and rose pedals. Put on slow sexy music to set the mood for a nice evening with your partner.
Have the bubble bath ready for two and purchase luxurious bath robes to get into after the relaxing bath.
After the bubble bath, enjoy a glass of wine in your bedroom with each other. What you do from there is up to you! Haha
Dinner for 2 (in Your Formal Dining Room)
Convert your dining room to a 5 star restaurant. Add some candles and low lighting to your dining room. Dress up and meet your loved one downstairs for a romantic dinner. If you’d like to cook a special meal for your loved one, go at it! Think of something you both enjoy but don’t get to eat to often like lobster or steak. If cooking isn’t your strong suit or just don’t feel like it (like me), order a special meal from your favorite restaurant. Last year we had a private chef cook for us in our home. This is a great option as well!
how to make this happen
Pull out a sexy dress from that closet to wear for the night. If you don’t have one, I’ve listed a few below that are perfect for Valentines Day. You don’t need to dress up only for when you go out. Making memories in your home are just as important as the memories you make outside of it, if not more. Make sure your loved one dresses up too!
If you are having food catered or bringing in a private chef, plan ahead of time. Valentines Day nights get booked quickly!
Like I mentioned already, put those kids to bed early!
