How to Nail the No-Makeup Makeup Look (In Less Than 10 Minutes!)

Before COVID, most of us were probably wearing minimal makeup for most of the week. Now that we are months into working from home and spending most of our time indoors, we probably are barely wearing any makeup, if at all. I have to be honest with you guys. When I don’t look like I’m put together, I don’t seem to feel energized enough to be productive throughout my day. I even tend to avoid showing my face on Instagram Stories sometimes. It might sound a bit shallow but I can’t be the only one like this! Recognizing this about myself and not willing to starting wearing a full face of makeup, I’ve developed a happy middle ground of a daily skincare/ makeup routine that has helped me to look like my best natural self! And the best part about it is that I’m out the bathroom door in less than 10 minutes! Here is my three step process to nailing the no-makeup makeup look!

Clean Your Face

Now before you all attack me about using Proactiv products, let me just tell you that this product works for me! I’ve been using this product since high school and I haven’t had a single pimple show up since! A lot of people claim its expensive but it doesn’t cost anymore than all the other skincare products everyone is using these days. If you use the right amount, it can last for quite a while! I use these products at least once a day, which is very doable. So don’t knock it until you try it!

Color Correct Where You Need To

After I wash my face, I now begin color correcting my problem areas. I have a huge problem with oily skin so going about my day without something to control this issue was not an option. My sister taught me a trick of where you mix your face primer with foundation and apply it to your face. So you are kind of creating your own tinted moisturizer. This helps me address my oily skin issue while ensuring the foundation makes my face look unison in color. I love the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector! It literally keeps the oil away all day. When selecting a foundation to mix with your face primer, be mindful of the texture of the foundation. Some foundations won’t apply easily to your face when you mix it with your primer, like the Fenty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear foundation, for example. As much as I love this product, it failed miserably when it came to using it in this method. This MAC foundation applies easily to my skin, just like any lotion and you don’t need to apply too much to get the natural clear skin look.

Next, I use the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser to get rid of the dark circles under my eyes. This product is just as it says it is… an Eraser! Once I apply this product under my eyes, it’s as if my dark circles magically disappear!

Make It Last

Finish your look off with any powder and facial spray of your choice to ensure your no-makeup makeup look will last you all day. I love how light the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder is! It literally blends with the color of your skin. This Mario Badescu facial spray is the only spray I’ve ever used. I love how refreshed my skin feels after using it. I use it immediately after I apply makeup and after I wash my face at night before going to bed.

Thats it! Three easy steps and it takes less than 10 minutes to do! It might not add that much of a dramatic change to your face, but whenever I take this small step to apply these products to my face every morning, I feel more energized to get work done and show up. Try it out and tell me if it has made a difference in your stay at home routine!

Until next time,
